Mediator Discusses the Need for Attorneys During Mediation

I am often asked as a Mediator if you need attorneys present during a mediation. It is most common to conduct mediation without attorneys present. However, the parties are requested to utilize the services of attorneys to explain or review the agreements that they ultimately arrive at. In certain situations, the attorneys are present on behalf of the parties, however, they are merely there to guide and advise not to advocate.
