What to Do If You are Involved in an Accident

The first thing you should do if you are involved in an accident is see if you or anyone else involved needs immediate medical attention and call for help. Once you have medical assistance if necessary, you should then take pictures of any damage to the vehicles, exchange information with the other driver, see if there are any witnesses, and ascertain what occurred.\nIf it's an accident where you slip and fall on a premises, for instance at a store or someone's house, the first thing you should do is always report it. As an experienced personal injury I advise clients that even if you might not be feeling pain initially, you might start feeling pain within 24 to 48 hours later. If it's at a premises, whether it be a store or restaurant, you should report it to the manager or someone that has supervisory capacity to document the injury so they cannot claim it didn't occur later on. Also, get the names of any witnesses you could, take photographs of what caused you to fall, as well as other pictures in the area that would help describe it.\n
